SBCC Members participated in the Kids Against Hunger Meal Packing Event
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, 7 SBCC members and 2 youth members participated in an engaging community event through Kids Against Hunger (KAH) Fremont, at Bridges Community Church, helping to pack a total of 32,000 vegetarian rice meals to serve those facing hunger.
2025 Elders Dim Sum Brunch
On Friday, October 10, 2025, SBCC celebrated our octogenarians (80 years+) and nonagenarians (90 years+) members by treating them to a dim sum brunch at Pearl Bay Restaurant.
SBCC 60th Anniversary Celebration
On September 20, 2025, SBCC celebrated its 60th anniversary with a Diamond Dynasty Casino Night at the South Fremont Age Well Center.

Emmanuel Chao’s keynote address at the 2025 UC Berkeley College of Engineering Master’s Commencement
Emmanuel Chao, a 2008 SBCSC Scholarship Recipient who received his Master degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley in 2012, addressed the Master’s graduating candidates at the 2025 UC Berkeley Master’s Commencement of the College of Engineering on May 21, 2025.
2025 Scholarship Awards Banquet
The 2025 SBCSC Scholarship Awards Banquet was held on April 16, 2025 at Pearl Bay Restaurant in Fremont. A total of 38 graduating seniors received 40 scholarships for a total of $62,000.

In Memory of Steve Cho (1949-2025)
It is with great sadness that we convey the news of the passing of Steve Cho on January 29, 2025. Steve has dedicated his life to community services. He was a long-time SBCC and CBC member and a two-time President at both the South Bay Chinese Club (SBCC) and Citizens for Better Community (CBC).
In Memory of Robert Yee Ho (1926-2024)
It is with great sadness that we convey the news of the passing of Robert Yee Ho on December 8, 2024. Bob was a long-time SBCC member and a two-time President of South Bay Chinese Club serving from 1989-1990 and 1995-1997.
