Congratulations to Suzanne (Sue) Lee Chan being elected and installed as President of the California Community College Trustees Board of Directors on May 11, 2025.

Emmanuel Chao, a 2008 SBCSC Scholarship Recipient who received his Master degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley in 2012, addressed the Master’s graduating candidates at the 2025 UC Berkeley Master’s Commencement of the College of Engineering on May 21, 2025.

The 2025 SBCSC Scholarship Awards Banquet was held on April 16, 2025 at Pearl Bay Restaurant in Fremont. A total of 38 graduating seniors received 40 scholarships for a total of $62,000.

It is with great sadness that we convey the news of the passing of Jack Yee on March 26, 2025.  Jack was a long-time SBCC member of South Bay Chinese Club.

It is with great sadness that we convey the news of the passing of Steve Cho on January 29, 2025.  Steve has dedicated his life to community services. He was a long-time SBCC and CBC member and a two-time President at both the South Bay Chinese Club (SBCC) and Citizens for Better Community (CBC).

It is with great sadness that we convey the news of the passing of Robert Yee Ho on December 8, 2024.  Bob was a long-time SBCC member and a two-time President of South Bay Chinese Club serving from 1989-1990 and 1995-1997.

On December 7, 2024, SBCC and CBC hosted a holiday Joy event at the Aegis Gardens Assisted Living in Fremont featuring the amazing Dream Achievers and Chinese dance performance.

On September 15, 2024, members of SBCC visited the Chinese Bunkhouse at the historical Shinn Park and Aboretum in Fremont.

On August 30, 2024, we held our Club's annual event, the Elders Dim Sum brunch honoring members age 80 and over. The event was held at Pearl Bay Restaurant, Fremont.

On July 27, 2024 SBCC members and guest s attended a one hour guided tour at the Chinese American Historical Museum in San Jose.
