SBCSC Scholar Athlete Winner Alyssa Lim excelled at the NCAA DIII Women’s Golf Championship

Our 2025 Scholar Athlete scholarship winner from Logan High School, Alyssa Lim, is truly thriving at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh—both in the classroom and on the green. While she didn't enter CMU on an athletic scholarship, she successfully made the varsity women’s golf team as a walk-on, earning the distinct honor of being the only freshman on the roster.

Her collegiate career kicked off with a bang in September 2025, when the team set a historic program record with a score of 16-under par at the NCAA Preview. That spectacular momentum carried them all the way to the NCAA DIII National Championship at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Springs this past May.

Competing against 34 elite programs, Carnegie Mellon captured an incredible second-place finish overall. On an individual level, Alyssa put on a masterclass performance, placing second in the tournament.

Dr. Victor and Dr. Frances Gin, sponsors of the York & Dora Gin Memorial Scholarship for Scholar Athlete, are incredibly proud of their award recipient, Alyssa’s phenomenal success and look forward to following her journey throughout her collegiate years and beyond.
