SBCC 60th Anniversary Celebration

On September 20, 2025, SBCC celebrated its 60th anniversary with a Diamond Dynasty Casino Night at the South Fremont Age Well Center.

It was a magical night as South Bay Chinese Club members and guests gathered to celebrate our club’s 60th Anniversary.  What a fun reunion as members exchanged greetings and a lot of “don’t I know you?” glances!  Best of all was seeing so many familiar faces sharing hugs and laughter while sharing nostalgic memories of yesteryear.

Following a sumptuous multi-course Chinese buffet dinner, guests were invited down the hall by the drumbeat of our Lion Dance entourage to our “Casino” for some after dinner desserts and play action.

Guests were encouraged to try their luck at the various gaming tables or learn a new game of action while our dealers provided instructions and encouragement.

Many chose to try their luck by participating in our drawing of door prizes and silent auction items which included a Hawaiian Condo vacation and a gaming night provided by 3 of a Kind Casino events.

Thanks to generous SBCC members, local business and community members who contributed sponsorships, the event raised over $25,000.  We will be donating a portion of the proceeds to three organizations:  KAH (Kids Against Hunger), Mission Peak Heritage Foundation (Chinese Bunkhouse Project), and Age Well Center South Fremont.  The balance will go to SBCSC’s Community Service and Club Operations funds.

Special thanks to our SBCC 60th Anniversary Committee for their many months of planning and tireless efforts.  Linette Young (chair), Gigi Wai Chew, Cecilia Leon, Jane Lin, Serena Suranyi, and Aliene Yee.
