2025 Scholarship Awards Banquet

The 2025 SBCSC Scholarship Awards banquet was held on Wednesday evening, April 16, 2025, at the Pearl Bay Restaurant in Fremont.

This year, we awarded 40 scholarships for a record total of $62,000 to 38 graduating seniors.

Among the scholarship recipients, there are 10 students with a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA. The average GPA of the 38 students is 3.89. They have also accumulated over 15,000 community service hours.

Two of our scholarship recipients, Kelly Jia and Eric Lan, both from Irvington High School, are among the 10 Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) students receiving the $2,500 National Merit Scholarships. They are among the 2,500 Merit Scholars designees chosen from more than 15,000 Finalists for the award by the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Students received certificates of recognition from local legislators including (L-R) Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, Fremont City Mayor Raj Salwan, State Assemblymember Alex Lee, U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna (represented by Ms. Simone Chien), U.S., State Senator Aisha Wahab (represented by Ms. Astrid Scott).

Allyson Wong, BASIS Independent High School, received the Howard Tom Memorial Scholarship for Top Honor from Mr. Aaron Wong, SBCSC Prsident.

Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert presented the Scholarship for Youth Engaement award to Max Wen of American High School.
