Arts and Crafts at Shinn Historical Park

The Chinese Bunkhouse Preservation Projects appreciates the generous grant from SBCSC earlier this year. This event will give the members a chance to see the bunkhouse in place. Additionally, there will be a “Chinese Root” exhibit on the front lawn of the Shinn House Museum.

DATE:     July 18, 2026,  Saturday
TIME:      10 AM
PLACE:   Shinn Historical Park & Arboretum, 1251 Peralta Blvd., Fremont CA.

Local legislators, Lily Mei, Yang Shao, and Raj Salwan from Fremont and Joe Woo from SBCC visited the bunkhouse at the 2024 Harvest Moon Festival on September 15, 2024.

One of the displays at the Bunkhouse information booth recognized the former Gerry Low-Sabado (former SBCC President from 2005-2006) as an original Bunkmate.

“Preserving the culture and customs of the Chinese heritage” is part of our Mission Statements. SBCC believes that we should support the preservation of the Bunkhouse to give a voice to these forgotten people who helped build our community.
