2026 SBCSC Scholarship Awards Banquet

This year, the Scholarship Awards Banquet will be held on the evening of Thursday, April 9th, at the Pearl Bay Restaurant (43635 Boscell Rd., Fremont, CA 94538).  The dinner banquet program will start at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to finish at around 9:00 p.m.  Please arrive 30 minutes earlier to check in so that we can start on time.  Note: we will start promptly at 6 p.m. Click HERE to view the banquet menu.

RSVP deadline is Monday, March 30th, 2026.  For online reservations, please follow the information below.  To RSVP via mail, please download and print this event flyer, fill out the reservation form, and mail it in with your check per the instructions.

This year the SBCSC Scholarship Award Banquet keynote speaker will be Mr. Emmanuel Chao, a Hardware Engineering Manager at NVIDIA. Learn more

Please fill out your contact information and the name(s) of any dinner guests on the Scholarship Dinner Form after clicking "ADD TO CART".  All scholarship student applicants will receive complimentary dinners. 

For those receiving complimentary dinners, please fill out the RSVP form below to make your reservations.  You can also purchase additional dinner tickets from the "ADD TO CART" options below.

Due to the steep rising cost charged by the restaurants, we can only offer a limited number of complimentary dinners to major sponsors with donations of $500 and up. For donations of $150 and up, we are offering the opportunity to purchase a certain number of dinner tickets at a great discounted price of $30 each, based on the amount donated as follows.  The regular price of a dinner ticket is $60.

The cost of the dinner is $60 for adult and $40 for “non-applicant” students (24 and under).  Free for Children under 3 years old. You may purchase online using your credit card - PayPal is preferred because they charge a lower transaction fees for non-profit organizations

Need-based tickets are for family family members of a scholarship applicant who have applied for a need-based scholarship.*

Mr. Emmanuel Chao, a Hardware Engineering Manager at NVIDIA

Keynote Speaker: Emmanuel Chao

Emmanuel Chao (趙沛恩) is a Hardware Engineering Manager at NVIDIA, leading a team designing integrated circuits for applications such as artificial intelligence. He works at the intersection of performance, efficiency, and sustainability, helping build next-generation computing systems.

Prior to industry, Emmanuel conducted research in printed electronics and nanofabrication. He earned his B.S. (2011) and Master of Engineering (2012) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley.

Passionate about mentorship, Emmanuel encourages others to apply their God-given talents to create, innovate, and be the light in the world. Outside of work, he enjoys opera, museums, history, and gardens— valuing these experiences for connecting people, sparking creativity, and bringing fresh ideas into his engineering work.

Emmanuel was a 2008 South Bay Chinese Service Club (SBCSC) Scholarship recipient.
