Suzanne Lee Chan elected as President of the California Community College Trustees (CCCT) Board of Directors

Congratulations to Suzanne (Sue) Lee Chan being elected to be the President of the California Community College Trustees (CCCT) Board of Directors. Here official installation took place on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the Annual Community College League of California (CCLC) Trustee Conference in Lake Tahoe. The League is the largest higher education system in the country serving 2.1 Million Students at 73 Districts comprised of 116 Community Colleges.

Sue’s long list of public services include:

Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for Ohlone Community College District
Two-term City Councilmember for the City of Fremont
Vice Mayor of Fremont
Chair of the Asian American Pacific Islander Trustees and Administrators Caucus
Chair of the Asian Pacific caucus of California League of Cities

Sue and her husband Dr. Steven Chan, currently serving as President of Dental Board of California (a state agency that licenses dentists and dental assistants in CA, regulates what they can or cannot do, and disciplines transgressions of the laws that govern dentistry) are long-time active members of South Bay Chinese Club and supporters of the SBCSC Scholarship Program. Sue, Dr. Steven Chan, and their son Tracy have all served as Chair of the SBCSC Scholarship Committee. Dr. Steven Chan and Sue Chan are sponsors of the Dr. Steven & Mrs. Suzanne Chan Scholarship for Creator/Innovator for the past two years.
