SBCC/CBC Holidays at Carlton Senior Living

Please join us at the Carlton Senior Living in Fremont on Friday, December 12, 2025 to celebrate the holidays by bringing love and joy to the residents.

This event is sponsored by SBCC (South Bay Chinese Club) and CBC (Citizens for Better Community), featuring the Dream Achievers band (pictured above) and Santa Claus.

Refreshments will be served.

Graduating seniors from Fremont, Newark, Union City, and Milpitas may request the link to the online 2026 SBCC scholarship application by clicking on the image above to visit the “2026 Scholarship Information” web page. You will find all the requirements and important deadlines on this web page.

The first deadline for the submittal of the application is January 19, 2026.

SBCC 60th Anniversary Celebration

September 20, 2025

2026 SBCC Elders Dim Sum Brunch

On Friday, October 10, 2025, SBCC celebrated our octogenarians (80 years+) and nonagenarians (90 years+) members by treating them to a dim sum brunch at Pearl Bay Restaurant.

SBCC Members participated in the Kids Against Hunger Meal Packing Event

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, 7 SBCC members and 2 youth members participated in an engaging community event through Kids Against Hunger (KAH) Fremont, at Bridges Community Church, helping to pack a total of 32,000 vegetarian rice meals to serve those facing hunger.

Kids Against Hunger Fremont is a non-profit humanitarian organization run entirely by unpaid volunteers.

2026 Scholarship and Mentoring Program
Call for Donations

We are now accepting donations for the 2026 Scholarship Program and the Mentoring Program. If you would like to donate, please click on the button below to go to the DONATE page of our website.

You may designate your donations to the “2026 Scholarship Fund” or one of the other scholarship related funds such as the Mentoring Program using the dropdown menu from the donation form online.

One of the new funds we have started in 2026 is the “2026 Mentoring Scholarship Program”. We started this pilot program in 2025 to extend the scholarship program to provide mentoring support to the scholarship award recipients during their first year in college as well as additonal financial support for their second year in college. As with the annual scholarship awards program, the minimum scholarship amount for the Mentoring Program is $1,000 and will be awarded to the students who successfully complete the mentoring program during their freshman year. This mentoring program has limited availability due to finite resources. Only the 2026 scholarship recipients are eligible to apply (after the 2026 Scholarship Awards Banquet).
