General Membership meeting (via Zoom) scheduled for 9/18/2021

SBCC will be holding its first General Membership meeting this year on 9/18/2021 at 10 a.m. Because of the COVID-19 concerns, this meeting will be conducted using Zoom meeting. The meeting is open to all members and their family and friends. Our special guest speaker will be Fremont Acting Police Chief Sean Washington. SBCC club members and invited guests will receive a Zoom invitation by 9/12/2021. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive a Zoom invitation by then. If you still cannot find the Zoom meeting invitation, please email sbcc@SouthBayChineseClub.org to request an invitation.

Our Special Guest Speaker for the 9/18/2021 General Members Meeting, the incoming Fremont Police Chief, Captain Sean Washington, attended the “Unity Against Hate” rally on 5/15/2021 with some of our SBCC members.

Very sad news…

It is with great sadness to inform you that our beloved former SBCC President (2005-2006), Gerry Low Sabado, passed away peacefully on September 7 at home surrounded by family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to one of the following:
- the Monterey Bay Aquarium, or
- the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, or
- to the Gerry Low Sabado Memorial Scholarship fund.

An unexpected cousins reunion during the 2021 Scholarship Award Ceremony Zoom Meetings

During the 2nd section of the May 22, 2021 SBCSC Scholarship Award Ceremony Zoom Meetings, Amelie Ngo, the recipient of the “York & Dora Gin Memorial Scholarship for Scholar Athlete” reconnected with her cousins Allison and Shannon Ly (also scholarship recipients) whom she has not seen for 8 years.
